General Information

Age Group Triathlon, Paratriathlon and Age Group Aquathlon athletes cannot enter the Grand Final individually, all entries must go through the national federations.

ITU events, such as continental and world championships, require athletes to qualify for their national teams. Triathlon is unique in that age group, or amateurs, can compete against each other in internationally recognized competition within their five-year age bracket. Many National Federations hold qualification events to determine their best athletes. Contact your national federation for more details on qualifying for ITU Age Group races. ITU Age Group racing is very competitive, most Dextro Energy Triathlon - ITU World Championship Series races have an age group race, where athletes of all abilities can enter.

National federations use their respective qualifying rules to decide who can enter the Budapest Grand Final. Every country has a quota of 20 persons per age group (aquathlon, sprint and olympic triathlon) in both genders. Athletes are not allowed to compete within 48 hours in more than one event of the same individual ITU related multisport, which means that the Age Group athletes cannot enter in both Sprint and Olympic distances.

Athletes pay the entry fee to their national federation which in turn transfers the fee to the local organising committee (LOC).  As athletes pay directly to the national federation, the national federation provides the invoice to the athlete. Please do not approach the LOC with personal invoice requests. The on-line entry system for national federation is live now on the official web site of the Grand Final: www.triathlonbudapest.com

Elite, U23 and junior athletes can only enter through the ITU on-line entry system. Start lists are prepared by the ITU and then sent to the LOC.

Limited Age-Group charity slots are also available through the Laureus website.
