Course Maps
Our provisional course maps were posted in December 2009. We are currently in discussions with the Budapest municipality office to get these tracks confirmed. As soon as this happens we will announce the latest and official course layouts here.

Olympic age group swimming course
The start is a waterstart. There is one lap to swim with 3 turns. Expected water temperature is 20 degrees Celsius.
Olympic age group bicycle course
After the first transition athletes have to complete the bike session in 3 laps (13,3 km each). The surface of the road is excellent, there are no difference in altitude.
Olympic age group running course
After the second transition, athletes have to run 5 km into the downtown of Budapest along the embankment of the Danube . After arriving to the finish area, triathletes will complete 2 laps (2,5 km each, same as elite’s running course) in the city centre.
Return to the start area
Athletes will be transported back to the start area by a shuttle boat service on the Danube. Point of boat departure is about 500 meters away from the finish area. Athletes will have to return to the start to collect their bikes.

Sprint age group swimming course
The start is a waterstart. There is one lap to swim (same as the elite’s course). Expected water temperature is 20 degrees Celsius.
Sprint age group bicycle course
After the first transition area athletes have to complete the bike session in two laps on a 2x2 lane expressway. There are 3 u-turns in each lap, no difference in altitude.
Sprint age group running course
After the second transition, age group athletes run straight to the downtown of Budapest along the embankment of the Danube. The finish area is exactly 5 km away from the transition. The difference in altitude is 5 m.
Return to the start area
Athletes will be transported back to the start area by a shuttle boat service on the Danube. Point of boat departure is about 500 meters away from the finish area. Athletes will have to return to the start to collect their bikes.
